Like many classic treks in Nepal including the world-renowned Annapurna Circuit Trek which are only getting more and more crowded, the route of Mardi Himal Trek offers you the experience of the unseen paradise of this amazing destination. Mardi Himal Trek is far less crowded due to its remoteness and off-the-beaten-path. The trek is centered at the Annapurna region with trekkers being able to enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre and also the ranges of Mt. Manaslu.

This wonderful journey will take you to 4,500 meters high and offers you all great aspects of mountain trekking from epic scenery, jaw-dropping natural beauty, the forest camp, rich cultural heritage, abundant wildlife sightings. high Himalayan pass and the Mardi Himal Base Camp.

Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Arrival in Katmandu

    After you land at Tribhuwan International Airport in Katmandu, you will be received by our representatives who will then assist you to transfer to your hotel. After check-in, we will have a short briefing of your trek. The remaining time is free for independent activities. You can relax or have an evening stroll around the city at your own leisure.

  • Day 02 - Kathmandu sightseeing and trek preparation

    We have quite lots of places to visit today, we wake early in the morning and after breakfast, our guide will take you around the Kathmandu to see some of the most iconic places in the city. You will get good opportunities to explore UNESCO heritage sites such as Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Bhaktapur durbar square, and Patan durbar square, etc. These are the old heritages sites of Nepal carrying the story of the historical development of civilization of Nepal and Kathmandu city along with the development of religious thought in Nepal. In the evening after we finish our Kathmandu day tour, we will prepare our trek starting from tomorrow.

  • Day 03 - Fly (25 min) or drive to Pokhara (Approx 6hrs)

    Today we will check out our hotel early in the morning and after breakfast, we head to Pokhara, a beautiful destination for tourists. You have a choice either to take a flight or drive to Pokhara. If we take a flight, we will reach Pokhara with short and we have access time to roam around the beautiful city of Pokhara, which has many beautiful things to attract you. Nevertheless, taking a drive is also a good choice as we can enjoy the high along the riverbank amid the dense forest.

  • Day 04 - Drive to Kande and trek to Pitam / Deurali (2,125m) Approx 5 hrs

    It is the first day of our actual trek. Driving via Pokhara-Baglung highway, we will reach Kande, the starting point of our trek, within an hour. To reach Deurali, our today’s destination, we need to trek at least 4 hours crossing many settlements from Kande through the rhododendrons woods.  Deurali is disregarding the Modi Khola valley wedged between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal/Mt Fishtail. The spot is grand with the all-encompassing perspective on the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley. We will stop at Deurali for an overnight stay.

  • Day 05 - Trek to Low Camp (3,150m) Approx 7 hrs

    We enjoy delicious breakfast with a pleasant environment at Deurali. It is quite an admirable day today. We mostly trek through grassland crossing forest camp to reach the low camp, walking 7 hours from Deurali. While crossing forest, we may see some beautiful animals like Himalayan Thar, spotted deer, musk deer, snow leopard, etc, if we are lucky enough to witness. One thing is sure that you will truly admire the adorable views of mount fishtail standing tall in front of us. You get yourself closer to clear blue sky with a perspective on layers of Himalayan lower regions and clearing valley towards the south. The trail along the forest of rhododendrons flower covered with moss, fern, and lichen is something you will love for sure  There are not many lodges in low camp and the available ones are not that much of good as we expect. We have to understand the situation and adjust ourselves. But you will love their warm welcome and service with whatever they have.

  • Day 06 - Trek to High Camp (3,700m) Approx 5 hrs

    We trek to the high camp, a place from where we will clearly see the range of Mardi Himal and other snow-capped high peaks. We walk at least for 5 hours from low camp leaving the Badal Danda behind, climbing the rhododendrons forest-covered trail to reach high camp. Before reaching high camp, walking one and half hour from low camp, reach middle camp. We will see “Danfe” national bird of Nepal and views of mount Mardi and Mt. Dhaulagiri is magnificent. When we arrive in high camp, there will not be much of a hotel but each hotel will provide impressive views of majestic peaks around.

  • Day 07 - Hike to Mardi Base Camp and back to high camp Approx 7 hrs

    We are heading to the main destination – the Mardi base camp, which takes around 5 hours to walk from high camp. We are certainly sure that you will appreciate the heart touching natural environment with exotic flora and fauna under the feet of snow-capped mountains. After spending some great time enjoying the beautiful scenes of Himalayas and making beautiful memories capturing pictures we will trek down back to high camp taking the same trail we took. It is quite slippery to go down.  Be careful. We will stay tonight in high camp at the lodge enjoying whatever local food we get.

  • Day 08 - Trek to Sidding via low camp from high camp (4500m) Approx 6 hrs

    We trek to Sidding, a wonderful conventional village, where we will stay for a night. The lifestyle of people of Siding, their social life is something that gives extra joyful to the moment of our 11 days trek. After our breakfast, in high camp, we start trek stepping back through low camp, which means we have to go through downslope. Be careful! You may fall down. After walking 4-5 hours from high camp, we will be at low camp. Walking further, we will be at Sidding. It is our last night in the Mardi Himal area. Enjoy your last night.

  • Day 09 - Drive Back Direct to Pokhara Approx 3 hrs

    Enjoy your breakfast. We will be going back to Pokhara from Sidding by sharing jeep. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach Pokhara from Sidding and we will have lunch upon arrival to Pokhara. Then we will be at our hotel, where we will rest for an hour. In the evening, we will roam Pokhara, around the lakeside and we will have a cultural dinner enjoying a cultural exhibition there.

  • Day 10 - Back to Kathmandu

    After all the breathtaking adventures and discovering the hidden valley of Mardi Himal, it is now time to say farewell to this amazing Annapurna region. We will now head back to Kathmandu via domestic flight, and we should probably reach Kathamndu within 30 minutes which still gives us time to explore more in Kathmandu. As soon as we land Kathmandu, we can head straight to Bhaktapur Darbar Square - one of the oldest cities in Nepal with a rich history and unique architect designs that attracted UNESCO to be one of their 100 Cultural heritage sites. After exploring the ancient Bhaktapur, we will have our final dinner to embrace and cheer the amazing adventures in Nepal.

  • Day 11 - Departure day / Closing our program

    Our Mardi Himal trek has come to an end and now its departure day. You can visit nearby places, indulge in last hour shopping and prepare for departure. We will drive you to Tribhuwan International Airport two hours prior to your flight time. Then comes the final departure with lots of memories.
