The founder of Buddhism Siddhartha Gautam was born in present-day Nepal. As a result, this Himalayan nation has always been a sacred place for religious practices. Nepal offers an exploration of unique Buddhist monuments for Buddhist pilgrims and devotees. There are hundreds of meditation caves, monasteries, and stupas related to Buddhism that should not be missed out. This tour is specially made to highlight the major Buddhist heritage sites. Our clients will get the opportunit know the details about Buddhism and its culture.


  • - Day 01: Arrival in Katmandu

    After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be received by our representatives who will then assist you to transfer to your hotel. After check-in, we will have a short briefing of your tour. You can have an evening stroll around the city for at your own leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

  • - Day 02: Swaymbunath and Boudhanath

    In the morning, we will visit centuries’ old Swayambunath Stupa in the northwest of the Kathmandu Valley. Also known as Monkey temple, the main stupa sits atop its hill and provides panoramic views of the valley. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas. Find peace and prayer in this holy sanctuary.


    We will also visit Boudhanath Stupa, situated 8 km to the east of Kathmandu. It is one of the largest unique stupas in the world. The all-seeing eyes of the Buddha on each side of the stupa symbolize awareness. After bearing witness to spiritual vibes of Boudhanath, we will head back to the hotel.


  • - Day 03: Pharping and Namo Buddha

    We will visit Pharping where you can rejuvenate in the tranquility and blessed aroma of famous Buddhist monasteries. This ancient Buddhist community has many sacred places, including caves where Guru Rimpoche mediated.


    In the afternoon, we will head to Namo Buddha, an ancient sacred destination of Buddhisim. This place is renowned for Shakyamuni Buddha’s act of compassion as he offered his body to a hungry mother tigress so that she could feed her cubs. There are many temples and monasteries you can observe in this settlement. We will then drive back in Kathmandu to the hotel.

  • - Day 04: Lumbini

    We will take a morning flight to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. Upon arrival, we will explore the monuments, temples and ancient sites of UNESCO World Heritage Site Lumbini. Notable visits include Mayadevi Temple were Lord Buddha was born, the Peace Pagoda, Lumbini Garden, and monasteries founded by the devotees from different countries. Overnight stay at hotel in Lumbini.

  • - Day 05: Tilaurakot, Kapilvastu

    We will drive to Tilaurakot for sightseeing. This is the former kingdom of Lord Buddha’s father and where Siddhartha spent his princely life before seeking enlightenment.


    After sightseeing and lunch at Tilaurakot, we will drive to Gothihawa, which has been identified as the holy place where Krakuchhanda Buddha was born and attained enlightenment in the 3rd century BC. Emperor Asoka visited the site in 249 BC, erected the stonepillar and built a big stupa, dedicated to the Krakuchhanda Buddha. We will drive to Bhairahawa Airport for our evening flight to Kathmandu.

  • - Day 06: Visit Maratika Cave, Halesi

    Located about 200 km east from Katmandu, Maratika Cave in Halesi is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites. We will drive to Halesi after breakfast. It takes about 8 hours to reach there. Overnight stay in a hotel at Halesi.

  • - Day 07: Explore Halesi

    There are also other caves around Maratika Cave that are also quite sacred and blessed by enlightened gurus like Amitayus Buddha, Padmashambhava and Abhilokiteshwor. We will explore the places throughout the day. Overnight stay in a hotel at Halesi.

  • - Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu

    After completing the Halesi tour, we will drive back to Kathmandu the same way. We’ll reach Kathmandu in the evening. Rest/leisure and dinner in hotel.

  • - Day 09. Departure from Kathmandu Airport

    Our tour of major Buddhist sites in Nepal comes to an end. You can visit nearby places, indulge yourself in last hour shopping and prepare for departure. We will drive you to Tribhuwan International Airport two hours prior your flight time. Then comes the final departure with lots of memories.
